Camellia is a burlesque dancer based of the Camellia flower genus and Alphonse Mucha’s The Precious Stones: Amethyst.
Camellias are a very symbolic flower. For the Chinese the petals represent the spirit of a lady. White camellias symbolize adoration, admiration and perfection, pink longing and devotion, and red passion, with all three representing different forms of love as well. Thanks to the novel and play La Dame aux Camélias by Alexandre Dumas the younger, the camellia also became associated with courtesans.
